The Inside Scoop on “Holiday House”

We caught up with the dynamic duo to get the details on their newest endeavor: a charming farm cottage in Tennessee, featuring LL Flooring's Amsterdam White Oak engineered hardwood.

LL Flooring: We're all ears about your latest project, Holiday House. Spill the details

PJ: A few years ago, we purchased this cozy cottage—Holiday House—so we'd have a retreat when visiting our farm. It's far enough from town to give us the escape we crave.

Thomas: Holiday House began as a single-wide trailer that had been expanded into a full-sized home. Oddly enough, the previous owners kept the original trailer structure, creating a mix of low, cardboard-like walls and high-ceilinged drywall sections.

LL Flooring: How did you handle the complex renovation?

PJ: We gutted the trailer entirely, leaving just the frame. Over the last three years, we've explored numerous layouts before finally settling on one.

Thomas: We're thrilled with the final design. The front of the house is dedicated to living and entertaining, while the bedrooms and bathrooms are secluded in the back, all connected by two main hallways.

LL Flooring: What design aesthetic are you aiming for?

Thomas: We're going for a minimalistic, laid-back vibe. We want the stunning landscape visible through our five living room picture windows to be the focal point.

PJ: Even though it's a work in progress, the house already emanates tranquility, which will be enhanced by our new flooring.

Thomas: Absolutely! We envision spending summers and holidays here, allowing our kids more freedom to explore and enjoy nature. They love it as much as we do, which is the ultimate win.
