Today's vinyl comes in planks in addition to roll goods and sheets. Some vinyl sheet products are susceptible to rips, gouges, and tears, but with our tough planks, you don't need to worry about this damage. You'll just want to be mindful of preventing dents and scratches caused by extreme conditions. Vinyl's protective wear layer is kid-proof and pet-proof, and the sturdy core layer helps repel dents, but you can take extra steps to help protect your flooring from accidental damage.

Dragging heavy or sharp objects across your vinyl floor, or not cleaning up spills promptly can result in scratches and possible slip hazards. If your vinyl flooring does become damaged, the repair process is relatively straightforward for most DIY-ers, by simply replacing a plank, so long as you have some planks in reserve.

It's important to treat vinyl planks per the product care instructions and follow a regular maintenance schedule to keep them in their best shape. Use moving pads or sheets to relocate furniture, use felt pads to protect your floor from furniture legs, and clean up splashes and spills as soon as possible. Also, avoid using cleaning products not designed specifically for vinyl flooring, such as those with wax or scouring agents. With a simple maintenance regime, you can reduce the likelihood of ever needing to repair your vinyl flooring.
