CENTER OF HOPE

The young girls at the Hayes Park West Center of Hope community center in Newark, New Jersey, have another reason to dance after receiving a donation of 1,100 square feet of flooring to improve the center’s ballet room and multipurpose space. The new floors were unveiled at an October 25, 2019 ceremony that included the performance of a step routine by the young dancers to celebrate the new floors.

The Center of Hope serves as a safe haven for girls ages 8-12 to enjoy summer camps, after-school activities, yoga, step dance and more. Earlier this year, the Center asked Lumber Liquidators to help improve this valuable community space, and through the Lay It Forward program, Lumber Liquidators donated its Morning Star Engineered Crushed Indigo Bamboo flooring and its Dream Home Misty Morning Oak flooring.

“The Centers of Hope are important community spaces for our youth to come together, connect, learn and have fun,” said Director of Recreation, Cultural Affairs, and Senior Services Patrick Council. “These centers need our care and our commitment and we welcome corporate partners like Lumber Liquidators who stepped up and donated 1,100 square feet of flooring to improve this center and help us build a more empowered city for our future leaders.”
