LAY IT FORWARD SPOTLIGHT: MARCH + APRIL 2016
At LL Flooring our floors are made to last. Through the Lay It Forward program our goal is to help charitable organizations across the country make a positive, lasting impact in their communities. See more about a few groups we partnered with recently:
Founded in 1992, the Childhood Leukemia Foundation in Brick, NJ is a national nonprofit working closely with health professionals to empower children and their families by providing the necessary tools to encourage hope. This group helps ease the day-to-day struggles of children fighting cancer and their families.
The Resource Center for Community Action supports those in need of temporary emergency assistance relief, financial, food, clothing and other items, depending on the need. The mission of this organization is to strengthen the caring power of the resource community to assist, support and guide individuals and families to develop a lifelong progression of better growth and success for all people.
As They Gathered is a charitable organization established to expand resources for gathering food and clothing in the community. The facility, which received a flooring donation, allows this team to prepare meals and store food and clothing for the homeless and families in need.
The Habitat for Humanity of Northern VA received laminate flooring for a housing project. The group brings together its communities to build decent, affordable housing – and provide hope – for people in need.It is a locally chartered, self-funded affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International that was founded in 1990.
Voices of Hope in Boston, MA is a 100-person organization of people who share a passion for the performing arts and the fight against cancer. The group uses music to raise awareness and funds to support research, totaling over $387,000 so far.
In April, LL Flooring was a sponsor of the Make-a-Wish of Greater VA Walk for Wishes in Richmond, VA. This fundraising event included a 38-minute walk. Did you know a Wish is granted every 38 minutes?
Located in Williamsburg, VA, Child Development Resources (CDR) is a nonprofit agency
dedicated to helping babies and toddlers with disabilities or development delays to walk, talk, eat and play.
LL Flooring also continued its multi-year support of No Barriers USA as a sponsor of the organization’s No Barriers Summit 2016 in Copper Mountain, CO.
The No Barriers mission is to unleash the potential of the human spirit.
Through transformative experiences, tools and inspiration,
they help people embark on a quest to contribute their absolute best to the world.
The No Barriers Summit is a 4-day event bringing together people of all abilities
to participate in barrier breaking adaptive activities, hear motivational speakers
and be inspired by innovative technologies and products that are transforming lives.
