Flower Power: 3 Ideas to Style Floral Home Decor

How to work fresh florals and floral patterns into your décor..without going overboard.

With spring upon us and summer fast-approaching, we’ve got floral decor on the mind. But forget the haunting images of your grandma’s living room or overstuffed antique stores—decorating with florals doesn’t have to be overwhelming or over-the-top (that is, unless you want it to be).

There are many ways to approach it and aesthetics that it can suit, whether you want to go full cottage-core or keep it more modern.

If you’re keeping it subtle or going big, incorporating flowers into your decor in your home can deliver a sense of natural calm and whimsy to the space all year-round. We’ve got some ideas for you to introduce botanical beauty into your interiors, whether you’re going subtle with floral touches or full-on flower power.

Floral Decor Is All In The Dainty Details

If you’re apprehensive about going overboard, or just want to mix in some floral prints to liven up your existing aesthetic, look for small framed floral paintings to accent your wall or some fresh throw pillows with floral flair to bring a natural softness to the room. For vintage decor, check out your antique stores or flea markets to find one-of-a-kind unique floral art and decor for a decent price.

Add Fresh Florals or Go Dried-and-True

When it comes to flowers, it’s tough to beat the real thing. In the spring and summer, keep your vases regularly stocked with fresh flowers from your local farmers market or grocery store to bring a shock of natural color to your space.

In the off-seasons, swap the fresh flowers out for dried florals and botanicals to bring a similarly organic, soft look and breathe instant life into the room.

Make it a Botanical Bonanza

Interested in going all-out flower power? Well then you’re in luck: floral wallpaper is incredibly on-trend at the moment. You can go all-out with a fully wallpapered room that brings movement and colorful detail to a whole new level—or, you can go with an accent wall that serves as a large-scale art piece.

However daring or dainty you want to get, spring florals are a go-to way to liven up your space and bring in vibrant color to reflect the patterns and colors found in nature.
