Being Part of the Family to the Rescue
When Claire Helfenbein was in need, the nonprofit Rescuing Families was ready to help. The organization, which renovates the homes of families with disabled family members, stepped in to fix up Claire’s home and make it more accessible for her wheelchair.
A big focus of the home improvement project was Claire’s flooring, which was in desperate need of an update to ensure Claire could safely move in her home. To support Claire, LL Flooring donated CoreLuxe Old Port Pine and Copper Barrell Oak (which is similar to the updated River's Edge Oak) to put a smile on Claire’s face and spruce up her Long Island, New York, home.
Each of these floors is a waterproof rigid vinyl plank, giving the authentic wood looks Claire wanted, with the durability she needs her floors to have.
“For us to come in here and do these renovations is what it’s all about!”
said Vinny Centauro, co-founder of Rescuing Families.
Making the home updates more special, Rescuing Families invited extended family members, friends, and volunteers from the project to the home for the emotional reveal for Claire.
“When I came in and saw how many people there are here to support me and my kids, there were no words,” said Claire.
"I feel truly honored and bless to be a part of a community that were willing, for no reason other than out of love, to volunteer and do what they have done.”
